Music has the power to communicate a message...
across geography and cultures.

United Power was created to rally people around a message of peace and togetherness. In a time when the health of the planet seemed so uncertain, they picked up their instruments and took to the streets to bring people together as one.

Currently based in Toronto, United Power Soul has been working to release new music and grow the band's live experience.

JORDIN

Jordin's voice and vision is integral to the United Power sound.  He belts out vocals, shreds on harmonica and comps guitar with 100% conviction. He cites Prince, Stevie Wonder, Steely Dan and Rudimental as key influences on his sound and songwriting style.  While studying at OCAD in 2001, he produced his first album of songs called Summer Sessions. When he's not busy writing and performing music, you can find him working with high profile brands in the world of fashion licensing. On weekends he  loves spending time with his standard poodle, Shadow and honing his other artistic skills in the area of oil and watercolour painting.

ELLIOTT

As the band's electronic ambassador, Elliott began experimenting with synth sounds early in his career.  Adding a distinct layer to the United Power sound, he has developed a personalized instrument called the FuturePhone, which is a combination of synth, vocoder and sampler. Developing new sonics and ways to play music is one of his main passions. He is the chief engineer and producer for the group, and lists fusion greats such as Chick Corea and Herbie Hancock, the original 3 Jamiroquai albums, as well as the sounds of classic house and techno as his main influences.  Having just returned from a 6 month musical spirit quest around the globe, Elliott is enjoying his time back in Canada, rewiring circuit boards, teaching kids about synth sounds and gigging around Toronto with the band.

Last Concet Attended: Moon Child at The Adelaide Music Hall

Favourite Gear: Custom FuturePhone, The Mouth vocoder, Ableton Live.

Brandon.jpg

BRANDON

Brandon has been keeping time since he was single digits and adds a heavy driving edge to the United Power rhythm section, Inspired by the classic sounds of Butch Trucks and Jaimoe of the Allman Brothers Band, John Bonham of Led Zeppelin and Keith Moon from The Who.  When he's not pounding the skins with the band, Brandon can be found out on the driving golf balls at the course, shooting hoops on the court or just spending quality time with his wife and 2 children.

Last Concet Attended: Phish in Miami at the American Airlines Arena.

Favourite Gear: 5-piece Pearl Export drum kit + 3 roto toms paired with 6 cymbals made by Zildjian and Sabian.

KENNEDY

Kennedy holds it down on lead guitar and adds incredible precision to the United Power sound.  You wouldn't know it by the smooth fusion and jazz licks he puts forward, but Kennedy has been playing guitar for just over half a decade.  One of China's best exports, he was first inspired to start playing the six-string when he  heard the shredding guitar sounds on Michael Jackson's records.  When he's not bending steel for the band, you can find him playing the newest video games and getting into fights with his cat.

Last Concet Attended: Guns 'N' Roses at The Air Canada Center

Favourite Gear: Suhr Guitar, Marshall DLS 5C, Various Pedals.
